Choosing your browser

If you are using a Macintosh computer, please call us at 1.866.695.2866 for support.

To "surf" the Web, you need a program that is commonly known as a "browser." A browser is a program used to view, download, upload, surf or otherwise access documents (pages) on the World Wide Web. Browsers can be text-based meaning they do not show graphics or images, but most, however, are text and graphical based.

In general, there are two main types of browsers that are commonly used: Netscape and Internet Explorer. Both access the Web equally well. You may select which browser you would like from below:

Internet Explorer 5.X

Netscape 6

Netscape Communicator 4.7X

Note: If you have an older version of one of these browsers then you may wish to have the latest version. The software is free, and it enables you to fully experience the Web. However, if you have an older version, be sure you have have enough RAM and hard drive space to load the newer version. Upgrades can be downloaded at Netscape and Microsoft as well as at http://www.tucows.com or http://www.download.com.
