Choosing an E-mail ClientE-mail is electronically transmitted mail on your computer. As opposed to "snail mail" (regular mail usually sent via the US Postal Service, which is often slow), e-mail sends your messages instanteously anywhere in the world. It is the main application of the Internet because of the capability to send messages at anytime, to anyone for less money than it would cost to mail a letter or call someone on the telephone. Note: If you have an older version of one of these e-mail clients, you may wish to upgrade to a newer version. However, if you do wish to upgrade, be sure you have have enough RAM and hard drive space to load the newer version. Upgrades can be downloaded at Netscape and Microsoft as well as at http://www.tucows.com
or http://www.download.com. |
